A few years ago I had the opportunity to share at OCBF at a Gathering of the Girls event. To date – that was the largest audience I’ve spoken in front of. The nerves were real. And when I get nervous, who knows what is going to come out of my mouth. 🤮
I declared publicly right before I spoke to the ladies in the audience, “I’m not a speaker.” Who does that? Me.
The late Dr. Lois Evans was at a table with myself and my Mom and once I got back to my seat, she leans in and whispers in my ear, “You ARE a speaker.” That will go down as a moment I will cherish forever. From a woman who has blessed my life. May she forever rest in peace.
Takeaway: Sometimes the very thing you fear is the VERY area you will be used in.
Action Item: What is one thing that people tell you often you’re good at. What are you going to do about it?
