Affirmations for New Relationships: Speaking Love into Your Life
Welcome to the Deep End.
New relationships and connections are wild. One minute you are smiling at your phone, the next minute your subconscious mind is like remember when we got our heart broken in 2016? But somewhere in the middle of butterflies and overthinking, there is this gentle truth — you are worthy of love, real love, and God is not out here playing games with your heart.
That is where relationship affirmations come in. This is where DISRUPTING the negative thoughts come in too – this is what I am currently learning in counseling. Not to force a specific person or pretend everything is perfect, but to remind your heart what is true, what is possible, and what God is still capable of doing. It is a powerful tool to shift negative thoughts into positive statements, speak life over your love life, and create space for a healthy relationship to grow. This is what I need you to know, this is what I NEED to remember – relationships are designed to grow us. If we come not every connection with a stance of perfection it will be hard to receive love.

This is not about manifesting a perfect partner like what you see on TikTok. LOL. It is about aligning your belief system, trusting God, and showing up every passing day with an open heart, a positive mindset, and faith that good things are still on the way. Because THEY ARE.
Why Affirmations Actually Help (More Than We Think)
Affirmations make a difference because they:
- Quiet negative beliefs and invite positive thoughts and positive energy
- Help you stay present in the moment instead of worrying about the worst-case scenario
- Create a supportive environment for personal growth, open communication, and deeper connection
- Attract the right people and potential partner by aligning faith with the law of attraction and truth
- Help you believe you can have a loving relationship without losing yourself
As much as I try to be positive and encouraging to others, I talk myself out of good things often. I get scared on my ability to handle this good thing. My capability of receiving this good thing. But the power of affirmations, prayer and journaling is that it helps us to see what is true. We don’t have to stay stuck in our thoughts. We can allow them to come, but we can move through the junk.
Easy Ways to Use Affirmations Without Making It Weird
Nothing extra. Just gentle and real.
- Say one while brushing your teeth in the bathroom mirror
- Write them on your vision board or journal next to your coffee cup
- Whisper one before sending a honest text message
- Pray them quietly when your thoughts get loud at the end of the day
- Save one in your Notes app for when negative thoughts try to sneak back in

Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, the most important thing is not having a perfect love story. It is having an open heart, clear mind, and faith that you are on the right path. Using love affirmation and speaking life over your journey of love does not make you desperate. It makes you intentional.
Real love does not rush. It listens, it grows, it prays, it shows up. And when it comes, it will feel like peace, not pressure.
So keep speaking over your heart. Keep believing in meaningful relationships, strong relationship energy, and the kind of relationship that feels like home. You are not behind. You are blooming.
All my love,
Des
